Changelog

Releases of the SDK and the MCP server, and changes to the API. Download URLs are listed in /dl/index.json.

2026-10-10: SDK and MCP 0.2.1#

API

  • POST /managed-databases/{uuid}/attach never replaces a variable silently: when the app already has DATABASE_URL (or REDIS_URL) with another value, it answers 409 with conflicts and suggested_env_key. New fields env_key (save under another name) and overwrite.
  • Apps without a git source (a pasted Dockerfile or a Docker image) have null for git_repository, git_branch and git_commit_sha.
  • Volume quotes for auto-grow and backups now carry the price at the auto-grow limit, the backups estimate and the current price.

Console

  • PostgreSQL databases can be restored to a point in time into a new database (Managed databases, Restore points).

TypeScript SDK 0.2.1

  • databases.attach(uuid, app, { envKey, overwrite }); a conflict throws code conflict with error.conflicts and error.suggestedEnvKey.
  • VolumeQuote has the auto-grow and current price fields.

MCP server 0.2.1

  • attach_database takes env_key and overwrite, and answers with the conflicts and a free name instead of replacing a variable.

2026-10-10: SDK and MCP 0.2.0#

API

  • Storage volumes: /hostwolf/servers/{uuid}/volumes (list, sizes and price, add, enlarge, backups on or off, auto-grow, back up now, restore, detach, delete) and /hostwolf/volumes (every volume of the team, attach a detached one, restore its backups, delete it). See Storage volumes.
  • Traffic: GET /hostwolf/servers/{uuid}/traffic and GET /hostwolf/traffic, with the bill so far.
  • Cities: GET /hostwolf/regions with the price per size and where autoscaling may add servers; GET /applications/{uuid}/autoscaling now has cities.
  • Managed databases: the connection answer has the pooled url and the direct_url; attach also saves DATABASE_DIRECT_URL. New: POST /managed-databases/{uuid}/upgrade, PATCH /managed-databases/{uuid} (Redis eviction policy), the xlarge plan, and pool sizes and pooler ports in the catalog.
  • Calls that raise the bill need "confirm": true; without it they answer 422 with confirm_required and the price.
  • The OpenAPI description marks environment_name and environment_uuid as one of the two when creating an app.
  • The MariaDB pooler (port 6033) now sends the full certificate chain, so clients that verify certificates connect.

TypeScript SDK 0.2.0

  • volumes: list, listAll, get, offer, create, resize, setBackups, setAutogrow, update, detach, attach, backups, backupNow, restore, restoreDetached, delete and waitFor.
  • servers.traffic, servers.teamTraffic and servers.regions.
  • databases.upgrade, databases.setEvictionPolicy, eviction_policy on create, and types for pooled and direct URLs, limits, upgrades and advice.
  • HostwolfAppsError code confirm_required with isConfirmRequired and quote.

MCP server 0.2.0

  • 14 new tools: list_storage_volumes, get_storage_volume_price, add_storage_volume, update_storage_volume, detach_storage_volume, attach_storage_volume, list_storage_volume_backups, backup_storage_volume, restore_storage_volume, delete_storage_volume, get_traffic, list_regions, upgrade_database and set_database_eviction_policy.
  • Billed tools called without confirm answer with the price, so the assistant shows it first.
  • get_database shows the pooled and the direct URL; create_database takes a Redis eviction policy.

2026-10-10#

API

  • Managed databases: /managed-databases with catalog, create (with Idempotency-Key), connection URL, attach to an app, backups and delete.
  • Purchased servers: GET /hostwolf/servers and /hostwolf/servers/{uuid}.
  • Autoscaling: GET and PUT /applications/{uuid}/autoscaling.
  • Volume backups: PUT, DELETE and POST …/run on /applications/{uuid}/storages/{storage_uuid}/backups.
  • Endpoints that don't apply on Hostwolf answer a clear 403 with a docs link; every error is JSON with a message, translated with Accept-Language.
  • The OpenAPI description covers the customer API only.

TypeScript SDK 0.1.0 (@hostwolf/apps-sdk), first release

  • Projects, environments, applications (git, Dockerfile, image), deployments with deployAndWait, logs, variables, servers, multi-server, volumes and volume backups, managed databases with waitUntilReady, autoscaling, teams and the audit log.
  • HostwolfAppsError with status, code, errors and retryAfter; retries for rate limits and brief outages.

MCP server 0.1.0 (@hostwolf/apps-mcp), first release

  • 40 tools for apps, deployments, variables, projects, servers, volumes, managed databases, autoscaling and the team.
  • Destructive and billed tools need confirm: true; secrets are masked unless you ask for them.
  • Hosted at https://app.hostwolf.net/mcp, or run it with npx; --http serves your own endpoint.
